I am travelling

Hi there,

I am in Singapore now. Blogging from a friend's powerbook

I am here for a few days until i leave for Hong Kong tomorrow morning and will spend a week in Hong Kong. I will take some pictures for the blog. Thats for sure. So keep checking the blog for updates. I hope its going to be more fun

Now is the fair/expo season in hong kong so all hotels are at least 80% more expensive than say in sept or nov, or the rest of the year for that matter. I am going with some friends and we have a long list of places to visit. Hope I can cover them all though

I am going to take pictures of places we see so much in the movies and the chinese series. They look so picturesque in some scenes and postcards. It would really be a dream come true to visit Hong Kong finally. Its the city that never sleeps

Places of interest that i've noted down are Felix in the Peninsula Hotel. It is designed by Philippe Starck and apparently it has the best view of Hong Kong money can buy. The toilet is just to die for, so I heard. You piss onto this glass overlooking the city.. so you feel as if you're pissing into the city below! How cool is that? And the atmosphere? POSH to the bone. I am in a dilemma just deciding what to wear

Also, i am looking forward to go to Lan Kuai Fong, Lui Yan Kai... try some Hong Kong dimsum and wan than mee. So, will keep the blog posted. I hope to capture some very very nice shots of Hong Kong and Singapore for the blog ok? Thats a promise

This is a shot of the changing room of the gym i am currently going to. Its the WESTIN Workout at Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. It's got his awesome designer feel but the shower can be a little intimidating to use. It is semi transparent frosted glass with the typical heavenly shower inside

The gym is great but small.. Nice atmosphere but the trainer I was assigned to, Ken Yee is such a BITCH. On the first day, i told her i have never really gym-ned in my life and never tried a treadmill.. she looked at me with a nonchalant and disinterested look on her face, and just stared me and said "Oh, yea, but your program says 6.5km/h for 30 mins" let's get started. She is not only a BITCH, i think she's conspiring to make my life a living hell for the next few months. I hate her. She also insulted me non stop by incinuating that i was a wuss and could not keep up. Heck, this is my real first week of gym ok? Cut me some slack here, BEOTCH!

Justin, a friend of mine who works in Quiksilver, got into a pretty bad accident earlier last week. Riding a motorcycle in Kuala Lumpur is a dangerous thing. If you don't hit someone, someone's going to hit you. I personally used to bike around until a few years ago, when i got my car.

I never had major accidents in Penang. But while studying in Kuala Lumpur, I was involved in at least 6 accidents. Some more horrifying than others. I consider myself a rather safe rider but then again, like i said earlier, if u don't hit someone, someone's going to hit you. Because in Kuala Lumpur, the car drivers treat motorcyclists as transparent... and probably as insignificant as another potential roadkill on the road whose life is as meaningless as a chicken crossing the road

Here's a picture taken in Penang. I was back lately for some work. I interviewed one of the directors for Slippery Senoritas. (I know, what a name for a club, right?) Anyways, spent a few more days with family here and celebrated mum's birthday with her and family at a resort by the popular Penang beach

On the beaches of Singapore

He's the Italian uber-DJ with massive respect from the crowd. His latest summer hit was No Matter What You Do. Which still remains in my winAMP MP3 playlist till today, together with "Satisfaction". Atmosphere was his only stop in South East Asia this time around and we're proud to have Benny Benassi in Kuala Lumpur. His presence is felt.. and the poster, signed. Call me a groupie but I am the one with the autograph and the pics! Funny thing was, he didn't know how to spell KENNY

Saturday night: Martell Party. It wasn't particularly fun. Only about a shade over 10 media representatives showed up. I took a few pictures as they were presenting the art of flaring. Martell in trying to create some excitement with the brand by infusing a little element called bar flaring. Which in a nutshell, means having your bartender entertain you with flying bottles, slick moves, magic tricks and even some pyrotechnics. Ok,so there are 2 types of flaring. One is where the baretender prepares drinks with a touch of entertainment, which is "working flare". The other type where people go for competitions, is called "exhibit flare". This is more outrageous, daring and like the name says, exhibitionist. The bartender I saw last night, lighted his bottle, Molotov cocktail style and juggled it, blindfolded! He prepared his drink with so much enthusiasm and passion, I would feel bad if I didn't finish the drink to the last drop

Working late tonight. Definitely have to work a little more this month cause I am going to Hong Kong end of the month. On a holiday! I am so looking forward to it. I wouldn't normally take the job i did last night because its tedious being a photographer, especially tiring when u get a lot of people refusing you and giving you the face as you approach them for permission to take their picture. Tiring because some others pull you and ask you to take pictures of them and their friends. Giggle giggle. Then there's this girl with bad breath that kept asking me questions. I screamed in answer but she kept saying "Sorry, pardon me?". I mean I could tell her she had bad breath. The on the other hand, the editor asked me for 50 pictures. Thats like A LOT. I don't normally do this, but then again, i don't normally use Biotherm either... and look how my face turned out? Flushes and pimples started to showing up on my face. In the pic, me and travis enjoying some Moet after work. pheww, the day ended well though

Was at Velvet Underground in ZOUK (Kuala Lumpur) yesterday night. It was a Fossil presents MTV's Rouge launch party. By invitation only, of course. VJ Utt was there as a co-host with Shamsir, a popular local male model. Anyways, it was a good event. Rouge is a new mini-series based on 5 super hot chicks, played by upcoming stars of south east asia, who are recruited a-la Charlie's Angels from diverse backgrounds to be part of a band. Here's the twist, these 5 girls play in a band by day and kick bad-asses by night. I think they have a real single out. Confusing? You betcha. But from the trailer preview it actually looks interestng. This comedy action mini-series kicks off on MTV Asia next thursday
