Merry Xmas and Happy New Year

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year
Originally uploaded by kennyt.

I'd like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I

will be away from Wednesday (21st Dec) onwards. Kenny will be spending

Xmas in Singapore! There will be a party with close friends on that

merry day. Boxing Day will be in Hong Kong and will be back to

celebrate New Year's Eve in Singapore again. Don't think that life is

all fun for me though. I do try to keep the happy thoughts and times

in the blog. But it has been a tumultuous year and even more

roller-coaster December for me emotionally. 2005 has had kinder

moments, like the trip I had with my sister and brother. The

snowboarding experience in Australia over the southern winter. The

dinner I had with my parents last month, after missing them for so

long. The great opportunity to write for some of the best editors and

publications around. The blessed year of financial stability or at

least being able to scrape through. And I've had the great fortune of

being surrounded and cared by some of the most understanding,

thoughtful and supportive friends I've had in my whole entire life.

For that I am forever grateful. 2005 has been a memorable year indeed

and it stands out among the years I've lived for it's eventfulness

By saying that, I also mean to say the year had its fair share of

trying times. What I've put on the blog so far are just a

concentration of my thoughts and pictures I've snapped when I'm

feeling good. But if you've been noticing my lapse and sometimes delay

in posting, well it just means I am not in the mood. Life is such. It

will give you a candy, and then slap you in the face. It's a mixture

of goodness and sadness but hopefully not one right after another,

like my analogy. At times it does happen, and it did happen to me this

year. There are a lot of things that are beyond our control in life.

To err is human. Life will present itself as forgiving and nurturing

but one day some of the smallest mistake will bite back, and you will

see that it's like God's weaving of life. It's all part of his grander

plan. That if you take sugar, your body will produce insulin. If you

receive goodness, there will be sadness. In almost equal amounts. If

you can only taste the sweetness and crave only for them, then that's

not life, its an idealistic shell - the tales of story books and

movies. So to those who read this, I hope you will see that there is a

balance in everything. That we cannot dwell in only the goodness or

the badness. It's all equal. That we cannot only expect to love

someone just for his goodness, but his occasional badness as well.

That's the way to love life, embrace life. Merry Xmas and Happy New

Year

Saddest Xmas Tree

Sad looking Christmas tree. It pains me to see horrible looking

Christmas trees that would have wished for suicide. Skinny ones, tacky

ones and ugly ones just deserve to be put to sleep. I mean, if you're

going to put one up, let's make sure it's a nice one, ok? Or else

please for Santa's heart condition sake, don't put anything up. This

one was spotted in a clinic and it's nasty. What? People get

newspapers for presents? Are the lights supposed to save this poor

plastic soul from feeling like it's the ugliest thing in the room even

when there are post-plastic surgery patients around? Is the star atop

the tree enough saving grace to create the Xmas mood? It should be

made criminal to put horribly ugly trees in public places

Fallen in love with Aston Martins since Bond's DB5. Aston Martins are

a different breed from the Italians. The styling is not as sexy, but

it has a certain allure of tradition and has the polite offensiveness

that's typical of the British. Think of swear words like bollocks and

bloody hell. Aren't they suprisingly powerful yet cultured? At least I

think so

This is the Aston Martin DB9 I spotted on the road last week. DB9 is a

thoroughbred sports car with GT levels of comfort and refinement. Now

the marque is owned by Ford, but it still manages to retain that

unique Aston Martin character, automotive masterpieces borne out of

craftsmanship and use of the finest quality materials.

It has a V12, 6000 cc (6.0 liter) engine that displaces 444 bhp @ 6000

rpm and a massive 420 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm. This magnificent beast will do

0-100km.h in 4.5seconds. More impressively is its ability to break the

speed limit and collect speeding tickets like paper is going out of

style... it can reach 160km/h from standstill in just 10.3 seconds

Well if you think that 160km/h will get your a RM300 fine, you might

as well go for its top speed? Try reaching it's speed limit of 300 km/h). And

the police will probably find it difficult to pull the

trigger of it's handheld speed radar in time to catch you. The DB9 is

such a beauty in real life. It's amazingly poised and muscular with a

sexy flowy arch to the back of the car. Really really sexy... big and

powerful. I wonder what the owner is making up for

Saw Asha Gill last night at PJ. She looks much better in person than on TV.

I mean, she's gorgeous on TV but even more charismatic and more charming

when she's talking and communicating in real life. You know that it's real

and that she's being herself. And surprisingly she looked so pleasantly

comfortable with the whole roadside restaurant environment and she didn't

look like she felt awkward at all with her very casual clothes and lack of

makeup and such. She was sitting at the next table, next to us. And she was

dressed so casually, no air, having a few drinks with her mates al fresco at

Greenview Seafood Restaurant in Petaling Jaya. Wish she was still Channel

[V]'s VJ, instead of of Paula Irritate-The-Hell-Out-Of-Me Malai Ali

It's been a while since I've come across some interesting marketing and

promo activity in Kuala Lumpur. This one has got to be the freshest in

months. AVAXX, the distributor of some Nokia phones has decided to bring in

a new 'trendy' phone, called the QMODO - if i remember correctly. It's a

Mickey Mouse phone that's got Mickey's monogram all over the cover and even

the design is just -one word - MICKEY. So they decided to give out Mickey

balloons all over the Bukit Bintang and it's vicinity, which included

putting brochures that's attached to the helium-filled balloons on the

windscreen of cars parked around the area. Great visibility, and people

would have to remove the interesting brochure and inevitably, read it. So

you get the awareness you're looking for. Cool. And expensive, but really

interesting - the trouble to go through to sell a Mickey Mouse phone

An Audi A6 (or an A8 for that matter). Soul-less, prosaic looks that could bore a librarian, a

brand image that couldn't compete in the very high end market a la BMW

7 or Merc's S-class and doesn't quite evoke envy in the general

public. Its a complete waste of money, development time and showroom

space. I mean you would have to be in the waste management industry or

CEO of a company that makes haemorrhoid cream or something, to want to

be chauffered around in this car. You just want to head home in

complete anonymity or just too embarassed to want to be noticed. Oh, I

guess there's the market right there. Celebrities who are in constant

scandals

Our lives are but fine weaving

That "God" and we prepare

Each life becomes a fabric planned

And fashioned in "His" care

We may not always see just how

The weaving intertwines

But we must trust the Masters hand

And follow "His" design

For He can view the pattern

Upon the upper side

While we must look from underneath

And trust in "Him" to guide

Sometimes a strand of sorrow

Is added to "His" plan

And though it's difficult for us

We still must understand

That it's "He" who fills the shuttle

It's "He" who knows what's best

So we must weave in patience

And leave to "Him" the rest

Not till the loom in silent

And the shuttles cease to fly,

Shall "God" unroll the canvas

And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needed

In the Weaver's skillful hand,

As the threads of gold and silver

In the pattern "He" has planned.

The longest PUBIC HAIR i've ever come across in a toilet in my whole entire
life. There's this thing about urinals and toilets and pubic hair, i've
noticed. I wonder where they come from? What? Did someone have a really
salty diet over the past few days? Did the pecker eat grass and took some
off at the same time? Or someone was just brushing their hair at the
urinals? WHAT? WHAT? This one i saw just this week is easily 3 inches or
about 7-8cm long! Wow

LISTEN UP, PEOPLE. TRIM YOU BUSH. OR WOMEN WILL HAVE PUBES STUCK IN BETWEEN THEIR TEETH WHEN THEY GIVE YOU HEAD. They won't like it

Annoying Paula Malai Ali. She's getting on my nerves. Her voice, her humor
and her charisma is starting to stale for me. Especially when you see Denise
Keller on MTV, then switch over to Channel [v] and see Paula making annoying
and un-funny jokes about bands & etc

It's time for her to quit. And maybe have her own talk show... just like
every high-profile Malaysian woman who's past their best in the career.
Bernie Tan, Anita Sarawak and next, Paula Malai Ali. Any consolation? She'll
probably do better than those before her
